Orange Drizzle Cake

Yesterday I made a quick cake (no measurements!!) and surprisingly it turned out very nice - my husband says the best so far! LOL

I will put the recipe up on my other blog, Sometime later on..and heres a picy of what it looked like before it got eaten. lol!

Today I took Hamza to his hearing test..it cost 12pound for the taxi there!! I almost died when the driver told me.
The test was weird...they had 2 dark glass boxes on each side of us, and every so often it would light up or flash with a noise, and you could see inside the box. Inside was a stuffed animal on a stick!!! How disturbing is that??? Its enough to give me nightmares! let alone Hamza.

mango yogurt and chocolate buttons

Hamza wanted yogurt this morning, with chocolate lol..how unhealthy..
I gave him one button cus I just couldn't say no, to those big eyes and him saying ''mama peeeesss abit abit abit''
:) Oh well...I will give him the wholegrain toast for lunch then lol

Yesterday I was halfway through cooking Chicken Jalfrezi..when I relised I had no yogurt and no coriander...eeek.. I had to make a second meal quickly..so It was pasta with a tomato sauce that had lots of vegies and some beans in. The good thing..is I don't have to cook today! I am thinking to make a dessert though, dry sweet virmirsillies - I will post it on the recipes blog!

Cardiff was beautiful..we went driving through lots of countryside..the day was very sunny and we had a windy picnic next to a lake. Took some snaps of their kids and tried to get some of the area, irritatingly every time i took the camera out, the sky turned Grey and it got all windy lol! I'm not making it up!

I have noticed that bars of soap do not last very long anymore, no sooner than you get it out of its shiny paper, its that soggy little lump that no one touches.
why dont they have bigger bars of soap, or a use for those soggy lumps?

Amazingly on saturday, we not only ordered from tesco, and went to asda, but in both we forgot the 2 most important items.. Oil and Ketchup!

lots of little stars..in my stomach.
After a long and headachey earachy day I was very hungry. Like extremely hungry, like might fall over any secondly hungry. I was desperate, I needed a SNACK.
I looked in the fridge, and in the cupboard... inside the biscuits box and in the bread bin.
Nothing.
I rummaged under the bags and packets, and then looked up.. Ah Ha Yes!
Cereal will do!
Now to slosh in the cold milk and to grab a shiny silver spoon...

7 days

A cold should last around 7 days, a friend has told me. So it has been 4 days which means only 3 days left till I'm running around without sneezing. Now for Hamza it has been 5 days, so just 2 left for him.
Last night I had a very strange dream. I was in china. I think backpacking, and I found a small child, a little girl. Thin and in rags and in tears. I picked her up at put her in Hamza's old carry sling. Then the dream jumped and I was running away from these people who had guns, they wanted her. It was scary. I woke up in sweat and the last image I had in my head was them catching me.

New Friends

Boxes

People have boxes. Some are bigger in others, and some just hold a piece of paper with someones name on it. Some people have lots of boxes. I have one, its purple.
All the things that I think to say but don't say I put in this box. It's a very messy box, it has all the things that are messy in it, like a spilt bottle of milk and some torn up letters.
But it is my box, my box of memories.

catch up..

-> Went to the dentist the other day, turns out my root canal needs to be re-done. So thats another £44. Why do they insist that saving the tooth is better, when really they mean its better for Them to make money out of Us. If I have it extracted I will then have a exact matching gap like my husband, how awful would that be if people saw?
I hated the root canal last time, I could feel it..urgh.. she says to brush more, I am ! Do I need to film it?

-> Hamzas birthday went well, we went shopping in the night to ASDA, and got a cake. Then we got home unpacked and fell asleep. So tonight we will have cake! He loves his train set (from us parents) he was playing with it this morning in his pj's. I will post a pic of that soon.

-> Today I have decided to bake biscuits (at least 3 types) as we are continuously buying them and then eating them all to quickly, I will post the recipes here if they are successful and yummy.

um...the box in the loft full of non-matching mugs, my old stamp collection, clothes i never wear...this is hard (shouldnt it be about things we want?) ummm...oh yeas the side drawers and the clock.

oh easy..computer, mp3 player, bread machine, my recipe notebooks and my camera.

The snow is melting now - its nearly gone, just enough for a last footprint. I hope this means warm weather is on its way, I would like to not have to wear so many jumpers. People proberly think we are a muscle building family.
Reuven has now been ringing me everyday, which is really nice (and im feeling quite popular) I do hope that he comes to see us soon.
Hamza seems to be running laps in the living room, which includes jumping over cushions and throwing a spoon, I'm glad I'm at a safe distance.

Umer came home with a gift for me today. :)

the mouse with a cold

Poor baby hamza has a cold, and so at night I can hear snuffling, and various cold hands and feet on me!
I think waiting for my mini chopper might just kill me, I decided I can't wait till x-mas, so I'eve orderd it, now I'm just waiting...and waiting..
-> New toy on top of the list now, is the new elmo live toy/robot by fisherprice.
Which I think we would all enjoy and let hamza play with it too! Hamza has already seen the toy in action, which brought him out in giggles and lots of chuckles.
-> The other toy is a remote control convertible by the ELC it says 2-5 years on the box, but Omer was already making ramps, and tunnels and having lots of fun with it.

I think Xmas is about toys, and gadgets that don't last long. as toys do keep us young, plus it is more fun with all the family!

a Kenwood mini chopper which is £20 in the shops

you can chop, onoiuns, tomatos, garlic and ginger (which is all essental for me) and also nuts and meat, but why you would want to put meat in such a lovely little thing is beyond me.
